Participants will develop skills to interpret and create engineering drawings, including multi-view (orthographic) projections, assembly and detailed drawings, section and auxiliary views. Emphasis is placed on the importance of title blocks, bills of materials, drawing notes, and revision control. The course covers the application and interpretation of dimensions, surface finishes, screw threads and fasteners, welding symbols, and common manufacturing terms and symbols. Students will also gain an understanding of manufacturing processes used to produce mechanical parts and assemblies. In addition, the course provides a foundational introduction to geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), including associated symbols and terminology.
Entry level designers, drafters, machinists or quality control and inspection personnel and entry level engineers.
